About

Pragmatic, meaningful answers to today's pressing questions.

8th Chair attempts to rise above a sea of AI slop and volume-based incentives to ask a simple question: what if there was a place where people were conditioned to only answer questions when they have something important to say?

How an issue works

Every week, we pose one question to selected experts from different fields.

Every respondent writes a credo: a concise and deliberate response of 30 to 250 words.

Once those seven responses are published, members can compete for the eighth chair. They submit their own credo and vote on others.

What separates us from the rest, and serves as a bulwark against AI slop and ill-thought-out answers, is scarcity. Any board member can only answer three questions a month, and you only get three votes per issue to devote to your favorite credos.

P.S. We're not anti-AI. In fact, we believe 8th Chair will create structured authority data that helps build a credible public footprint for executives, so their ideas become more discoverable, quotable, and trusted by both human audiences and AI answer engines.
